It’s Friday so we’re listening to something more upbeat. Today we’re listening to Shinichi Atobe, a Japanese electronic musician from Saitama. We’ve recommended his music a few times before. He’s been making quality techno/house music, beasting in the underground since the start of the millennium. In a conversation with Tone Glow, he said, “I started making techno when I was 27. At the time, I was working as a security guard. I saved up money to buy a Prophet 600. I was listening to a variety of techno music.” We’re playing his latest album, Silent Way, which came out in March. It carries on his style of laid back techno, with drums keeping the pace and synths conveying his signature form of energized calm. We’re also playing Heat from 2018, which to our ears is his magnum opus.
