Hermanos Gutiérrez
Good morning.
Today we’re listening to Hermanos Gutiérrez, two guitar-playing brothers born in Ecuador and raised in Switzerland. Thank you Victor Torres for recommending this on our recent thread. Alejandro and Estevan picked up guitar while in school, focusing on milonga (Argentinian folk) and classical music.1 When they started recording together in the 2010s, they reflected a wide range of influences: Ennio Morricone, Dilermando Reis, Ry Cooder, Los Indios Tabajaras.2 We’re playing two of their records: Eternamente from 2021 and the more somber El Bueno Y El Malo from last year.
