Good morning.
Today we’re listening to Loscil, a Canadian ambient musician from Vancouver. The name “Loscil” comes from the programming language Csound; it’s the function that creates a looping oscillator, which he uses frequently in his own work.1 We first recommended him back in 2019, and since then he’s put out over half a dozen new LPs. We’re playing the most recent one, Colours of Air, which is a collaboration with Australian musician Lawrence English. But first up is Stases, which Loscil originally recorded in the early aughts and then reissued last year, and is understated even for an ambient record.
Stases - Loscil (70m, no vocals)

Colours of Air - Loscil & Lawrence English (50m, no vocals)

We wish you a great start to your week.

Never heard this. This is why I subscribe to Flow State. So good!
Love Loscil so much. Endless Falls was my gateway and still one of my favourites. Thanks for sharing.
