Good morning.
Today we’re listening to Kamaal Williams, a keyboardist and producer from London. He picked up drums in high school and went on to study music production and keys at Southwark College.1 He linked up with drummer Yussef Dayes and after playing together for years released the 2016 collaborative album Black Focus. We’re re-upping that album having previously recommended it last October. But first we’re playing Williams’ 2023 record, Stings, which is at turns orchestral-cinematic, fusion jazz, and guitar-led bossanova. It’s a journey of a record on which Williams demonstrates his range and features Miguel Atwood-Ferguson on a couple tracks.
Stings - Kamaal Williams (50m, some vocals on disc two)

Have a really good Thursday.
Love Kamaal’s work and Black Focus was incredible (featured it in my first ever Seven Senses - almost 2 years ago ;)
