David Cordero (Guest rec from Melted Form)

Today we have a guest recommendation from Melted Form, a musician and writer, whose excellent newsletter Hum, Buzz, & Hiss shares ambient music, reflections on the form, and stories behind the artists.

I’d like to recommend a couple of works by David Cordero, an ambient artist from Spain who runs the Noray Records label. David is a master collaborator, regularly producing works together with artists like Ian Hawgood, Wil Bolton, Rhucle, Anthéne, Raúl Cantizano, Miguel Otero, and many more. The releases of Noray Records have become certain additions to my listening rotation given their consistent quality, surely thanks to David’s talented circle of musicians. Whenever I need something quiet and simple, but interesting and deeply atmospheric, I know I can turn to David and Noray. The first work I’m recommending today is Night’s End, a recent collaboration with Aiko Takahashi that was released on the Home Normal label (another go-to ambient label for me). The second work is a solo record from David called Numen, which is a great example of his unique talent for minimalist composition. I hope you enjoy these records. Happy listening.
