Today we’re listening to Benoît Pioulard, an American ambient composer from Michigan and now based in Brooklyn. We first recommended him almost five years ago. Sunder, his latest album out earlier this month, is a collaboration with Denver-based sound artist Offthesky. The record’s staticky, wistful synth pads come in and out, slowly morphing over time. Thanks to Headphone Commute for highlighting the release. We’re also listening to the frosted, drifting, and echoey chords of Pioulard’s 2021 solo album, Bloodless.
