The Sweet Enoughs

Oct 15, 2026

Today we’re listening to The Sweet Enoughs, an Australian trio led by bassist Paul Bender. He started the group in the late 2010s along with his Hiatus Kaiyote bandmate Simon Mavin (keys) and Lachlan Mitchell (guitar). The group’s first record was 2020’s Marshmallow, a sort of easy listening / exotica themed record that we’ve excerpted on many mixes. Their new record, Another Helping of the Sweet Enoughs, plays a similar style, channeling mid-century composers like Les Baxter and Piero Umiliani. The record was executive produced by the fictional Greek yacht-faring maestro Yannis Dreamlake, who gives an exclusive interview that accompanies the album’s Bandcamp release.
