Tammo Hesselink
It’s Friday so we’re listening to something more upbeat. Today we’re listening to Tammo Hesselink, a Dutch electronic musician from the Netherlands countryside. In the 2010s he began DJing at Amsterdam clubs and then releasing his own music. His style takes techno as the foundation and borrows from UK bass and minimalist house. To ASIFNOWAY he said, “I mostly just try to find a lot of samples which I manipulate with a lot of ring modulation and frequency shifter to get sounds that sound a bit in between melodic and percussive.” We’re playing two records: Beam, an LP from 2023, and Naturally Occurring, an EP from 2024.
