Good morning. Today we’re listening to SUSS, an ambient country band based in New York City. We’ve featured them twice before. A trio of country musicians who gravitated toward ambient music in the 2010s, SUSS suffered the loss of founder Gary Leib in 2021. Last week, the band put out a self-titled record that collects three EPs’ worth of recordings made as the band navigated their place in the world after the loss of Leib. Never heard this sort of music referred to as 'ambient country'. Because of the guitars? Performers' choice? Reminds me that more often than not, prefer the sound of physical instrumentation to electronic, even if I am "not really listening."
Just curious, the post said that Ghost Box was 60 minutes, but the Spotify link goes to Ghost Box, which is 35 minutes, while they do have a 'Ghost Box (Expanded)', which is 60 minutes. Did you mean to link to the expanded version, or typo the time in the post? Cheers.
