Sasse
Good morning.
It’s Friday so we’re listening to something more upbeat. Today we’re listening to Sasse, a Finnish electronic music producer based in Berlin. In the ‘90s, he was part of the early house scene in Turku and started his own label, Moodmusic.1 Since 1996 he’s put out dozens of singles, EPs, and LPs—primarily deep house but influenced across the electronic music spectrum. We’re playing two of our favorite records from his discography. Fusion, an EP that just came out in January, combines hard-driving four-on-the-floor drums with nuanced, thought-provoking synth chords. We’re also playing 2013’s Third Encounter, his third LP, which foregrounds acid and rave influences.
