Good morning. It’s Friday so we’re listening to something more upbeat. Today we’re listening to LTJ Bukem, an English DJ and producer from Watford. Bukem, whose name comes from the “book ‘em” catch phrase of Hawaii Five-O, fuses jazz influences like Herbie Hancock with drum ‘n’ bass and jungle.
It must have been 2002 when we were travelling to the south of France from the south of England. Catching the ferry to Calais we drove through the night and day, 1000 miles in a convoy of three cars. My friend Lawrence who I consider a brilliant DJ in his own right, at least he was at the time, introduced us to Bukem and in a flash, I was bowled over and every now and then I have a Bukem renaissance. Looks like road is going to be on of them!!! Yay!!!
