Good morning.
Today we’re listening to Lorenzo Morresi, an Italian music producer and guitarist based in Milan. Growing up, Morresi fell in love with two disparate styles of music – dance music and Italian jazz funk – which he fuses in his own work.1 Morresi, who also DJs, collaborated with multi-instrumentalist Tenderlonious on the 2022 record Cosmica Italiana. It’s an homage to ‘60s and ‘70s Italian soundtrack and library music, incorporating modern dance rhythms and the cheekiness of Todd Terje.2 Morresi followed that up with another collaboration, Pop Flop, recorded with fellow producer Le Isole on rare Italian synths at the Museo Del Synth Marchigiano & Italiano in Le Marche.3
