Haruhisa Tanaka

Good morning.

Today we’re listening to Haruhisa Tanaka, a Japanese ambient producer and sound designer based in Tokyo. He constructs gentle synth worlds or “clouds of billowy drone” as Queen City Sounds and Art put it. Since 2017 Tanaka’s put out five LPs that are oases. We’re first playing the latest one, Nayuta, which came out earlier this month. We’re also playing Reflections from 2017, which is more atmospheric and droney. He’s also, as of 2014, the founder of the Purre Goohn record label. If you enjoy Tanaka’s music, it’s worth digging through the archives of his label.
